AGM: NOVEMBER 17
Our AGM will be on November 17 at 2 pm. We’ll be meeting in person at the clubhouse. Please plan to attend if you are able.
You’ll find the executive member reports here. Note that there are some important (and lengthy) appendix hotlinked to the paper rat and ground rat reports. Please take some time to review them.
As Jeff mentioned, all board positions are open to members who are interested in running.
Longtime member, Julie Hughes is interested in the Chief Rat position and since she’s out of the country for the AGM, we’re including an introductory note from her below.
If other members are interested in running and unable to attend the AGM, we’re happy to send your info as well by email to the membership. Feel free to send us a note.
A NOTE FROM JULIE HUGHES
Hello WRSC Members!
As we approach our AGM, I wanted to throw my hat in the ring for Chief Rat officially.
About Me
My name is Julie Hughes, and I’ve been a member of WRSC for nearly 20 years. If we haven’t had the chance to meet yet, here’s a bit about me:
• I’m a mom to two amazing university students.
• I’ve been sailing and racing since childhood.
• At WRSC, you’ll find me racing my Laser and paddling my Hobie kayak—often accompanied by my two Aussie shepherds.
Why Now? Why Chief Rat?
1. It’s been a few years since I served on the Board, and I believe it’s my turn to step up.
2. I deeply love WRSC and want to support and expand our community.
3. I’m actively involved in sailing, racing, and kayaking.
4. I’m passionate about fostering open communication and supporting community discussions.
5. I’m dedicated to promoting our shared goals for the club we all care about.
I won’t be able to attend the AGM in person as I’ll be travelling with Looking at the Stars, a charity that brings classical music to prisons. I’ll be in Lithuania until November 22, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with you here.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Here's to a great life at WRSC!
